Dreamscapes

Soft-focus photography, popular in fashion photography in the 1920s, was used to create elegant and ethereal images. Lenses were designed to soften the detail. Other techniques involved smearing Vaseline on a clear glass filter, which is how the three images here of rabbit brush were made. For this pink flowers photo, a blast of greenhouse humidity reduced the clarity on my lens. The collection of fall colors photographs was made with a large camera lens aperture, effectively blurring the background while keeping sharp focus on the subject.
